AUGUST  NEWS

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

August and our UK traditional holiday time in what looks to be another hot dry month. We are still busy in the Chamber with our Business Talk Programme and organising the Jobs Fair for September. This month we look to re-branding the Chamber and to the piloting of a new online video service of business tips from local and national business leaders. Find out more below.

.

THE BUSINESS TALKS PROGRAMME

Join us on Thursday 18th August at Broom Hall, Richmond Road to hear Alice Reeve CEO of Hethel Innovation talk about providing business support and advice across Norfolk and East Anglia and how your business might benefit. The next speaker in our Business Talks Programme will be Andy Mead CEO of ‘The Finishing Line’ a supply chain specialist based in Basildon . This event will be on Thursday 3rd November – a date for your diaries.

CHAMBER JOB FAIR

Are you struggling to find staff for your business – join our jobs fair on Thursday 8th September 10-4pm at the Queens Hall, Watton. This event led by the Chamber and supported by the Department for Work and Pensions (Dereham) and Watton Town Council, is an opportunity for local unemployed residents and employers and training providers to get together to explore new job opportunities. For further information contact Pat Warwick our Committee Member who is leading on this on 077766 665952.

REBRANDING

Image and brands are so important for business recognition and hence it is always a big decision whether to change and update. With some reservations therefore the Chamber Committee has come to the conclusion that the current logo and branding is all a bit dated and we need a bit more than an airbrush to breath life into a new look. So we have set ourselves the task to rebrand. We look forward to releasing and launching our new look in the Autumn.

BUSINESS TIPS ON VIDEO SERVICE

We all struggle to find the time we would like to pick-up on the latest thoughts and views in our industry – and so now the Wayland Chamber is making it simple and easy with bite-sized videos.

Led by Committee Member David Hazel of Kando Pictures Ltd, the Chamber will film and build a collection of easily accessible key business tip videos featuring local and national business leaders covering a range of relevant sectors for Wayland. These will be made available to members on our website. We will keep you posted of developments on this and if you have important tips for colleagues and would like to feature in a video- then get in contact – email chair@waylandchamber.co.uk.
