NARS – Norfolk Accident Rescue Service

NARS is Norfolk's emergency medical charity, providing expert and life-saving medical care to critically ill or injured people across Norfolk. Established in 1970, we support the East of England Ambulance Service by sending our specially trained volunteer clinicians (including doctors, paramedics, nurses and emergency responders) to the scenes of medical emergencies where additional skills, equipment, or rapid intervention are needed.
Our medics respond outside of their full-time roles and give their time for free. These highly skilled individuals bring hospital-level care directly to patients across the county, delivering advanced interventions such as anaesthesia, blood transfusions, and complex trauma care at the roadside or in homes.
As a charity, we rely entirely on donations, fundraising, and community support to keep our team equipped and ready to respond. Every year, we attend over 2000 incidents across the county, saving lives and helping to reduce the impact of serious injury and illness.
We work closely with local partners, businesses, and communities not only to raise funds but to raise awareness of what we do. We also offer volunteering opportunities and sponsorship packages for those who would like to support our cause.
Whether it’s delivering critical care or educating people on life-saving skills such as CPR, our team continue to work tirelessly to make Norfolk a safer place.
